Traditional biscuits are made with shortening or butter, this is a healthier version made with oil, and they’re easier too.

2 cups all-purpose flour

(can be 1 cup of any combination of

whole wheat flour, wheat germ and oat bran

and 1 cup of white flour)

3 teaspoons double-acting baking powder

(I think all baking powder is double-acting these days)

1 teaspoon salt

Add all at once and quickly stir with a fork until it all holds together:

1/3 cup oil

2/3 cup milk (can be soy)

Drop by spoonful on a cookie sheet

preheat oven to 450

(I think I often baked these at 400, try a few first in your oven to see)

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes
